I've wanted to live in Europe for as long as I can remember. As I was getting ready to retire (2009) I thought about living 6 months of each year somewhere in Europe - changing the location each time I moved abroad. The economy crashed and I stopped thinking about it.
Last summer I spent a month traveling in Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and France. Having been in Paris again, I felt that I had come "alive". I knew I needed to be there. So, when I got back home I made my decision and have been planning my move to Paris since last October (2014).
The months up to today (10 May 2015) have been exciting, scary, and interesting to say the least. But I'll write about that once I know for a fact that I am able to move. I have my long-stay via appointment on 1 June 2015 at the French Consulate in Los Angeles. Fingers crossed and prayers being said that I'll be approved. Once that happens, the blog will become my travel journal.
